to try to capture handshake.
In 1 lucky previous occasion, I managed to capture 1 handshake on another access point.

I may be able to help if there is more detail.

The signal on the stations is very low, so it is likely that you only received part of the handshake.

It should be possible, but I'm not sure if such implementation still exist.

Issue 1:

Virtualbox USB passthrough driver is crappy. But if you insist on using it, make sure it is set to USB 3.0. VMware's driver is more stable/reliable.

Make sure your system is up to date: apt update && apt dist-upgrade then reboot.

If you are 100% sure the bssid and clients are correct, use -D parameter.

There are 3 ways you can set the channel:

1. When using airmon-ng: "airmon-ng start wlan0 6" -> will set on channel 6. Make sure you kill network managers beforehand because they change channels and interfere with monitor mode.

Hi,

I was lucky enough to capture two handshakes from the same access point.

However when I use aircrack-ng to crack the wpa2 passphrase it reports errors.

Below are the error messages with bssid and essid masked.

For the first handshake,

sudo aircrack...

Wordlist require the -w parameter. Any file without an option is considered a pcap file.

By the way, aircrack-ng doesn't need sudo
