Use the linux backports drivers (aka compat-wireless). The driver you are trying to use is outdated.

It most likely happened because you forgot to kill the network managers. And by the way, your command 'c airodump-ng [channel] --bssid [MAC] mon0 -w crackwep' is wrong. Look up the documentation.
