Open the PCAP with Wireshark, then export the individual handshakes, preferably with their respective authentication/association frames plus a beacon in separate capture files. Check the wiki, we have a tutorial bout identifying handshakes.

What do you mean by airodump-ng caught the password? Do you mean aircrack-ng cracked it and the result was the computer password or was it in the network traffic?

Please rerun it. It will be a lot easier to look at a PCAP to understand what happened exactly.

Ok, but give me some time for it. I will setup an other network to test to see if it repeats. If so, you'll get the PCAP of that. If not, I will fall back to the network where it went "wrong" and give you both to compare.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce it. However, thinking about it, I was wondering about the possible causes for that to happen.

3. There is no unexpected features in aircrack-ng.

Driver names sometime change over time. This card is old-ish. TL;DR: plug it and it should work just fine.
